ENJOY OUR FAMOUS “PANGEA” RESTAURANT
According to our guests, one of the highlights of staying at the Hakuna Matata is the food. Our cuisine is consistently rated as excellent. The secret behind this is quite simple, we use high quality fresh ingredients, organic produce and of course, everything is prepared on premises with extreme care as in a family home. Our gastronomical proposal is a fusion of Ecuador specialties with international standards and quality.
Hygiene and quality of food is a priority at Hakuna Matata. All ingredients are hand picked for quality and must be in excellent conditions. We use purified water so you can enjoy salads, fruit juices and ice cubes without worries.
The design of “Pangea” restaurant follows the local building tradition, semi open and with a high roof made of toquilla palm straw, this allow for an always fresh atmosphere even on the hotest days.
It is the ideal place to sit and enjoy the sunset, admire nature and hummingbirds as you enjoy a fresh tropical fruit juice, a beer or a cocktail from our bar. We have a fine selection of regional wines and spirits. Wines have been paired with our menu for a gourmet experience in the remote Amazon jungle.
Our restaurant serves, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A Hakuna Matata breakfast is always included in your stay and caringly offers: freshly brewed coffee, tea or milk chocolate, freshly squeezed fruit juice, homemade wholewheat bread, artisanal jam, butter, cheese and eggs a la carte. Breakfast schedule is between 7:30 and 9:00 am.
Lunch is optional and has to be booked in advance. Usually made up of a cold soup, fresh salad with homemade bread, past or tortillas. Lunch has a fixed price of $15 USD.
Hakuna Matata also includes a gourmet 3 course dinner with your stay, it is made up of a hot or cold appetizer, main course and dessert. We vary our menu every evening so your gastro experience unique and distinctive whether you stay 1 night or a week with us. Dinner is served at 7:00 pm.
If you are vegetarian, vegan, have allergies or a dietary restriction, “no worries”, just let us know in advance and we will take care of the rest.
