Our greatest efforts are focused on offering you as our guest a carefree stay in a relaxed environment. We want you to enjoy the unique place Hakuna Matata is at its purest. The idyllic surroundings, being Mosquito Free (no mosquito nets are necessary), the mild temperature and the calming sounds of nature are the ideal lullaby for the perfect night’s sleep amidst the amazon jungle.
Our 16 rooms blend in perfectly without intruding into our tropical gardens, they are distributed into 4 different categories: Hakuna Cabins, Hakuna Lodge, Hakuna Supreme and our Hakuna Suite. The design in our rooms follows the typical tribal architecture of the Quichua people from Ecuador’s Amazon. We keep a rustic feel blended in with modern comfort. Each cabin has a small balcony or hammock terrace, modern and spacious bathrooms with organic amenities and hot water, orthopedic mattresses and high quality gel pillows. All these features are tastefully combined to create the ideal resting spot for a great sleep. Rooms are cleaned daily and it is our compromise to keep them spotless as part of making your stay comfortable.
Hakuna Cabins
Our most rustic design makes our small wooden bungalows the most authentic part of the lodge. These simple yet cozy rooms cater to our more adventurous guests who search for a more pure Amazonian design. We have 5 twin or double cabins and a spacious family cabin (4 person capacity).

Hakuna Lodge
The main house, built with from wood, it shares the feeling of local indigenous homes. It is made up of 3 double / twin rooms and a family room (4 person capacity). The location at the hilltop makes it a great place to enjoy views of the surrounding forest. A favourite area is the common hammock terrace and outdoor lounge.
- Double / Twin Cabin: 14 - 16 sq.mts. room area + bathroom. Bedding is king size or two twin beds
- Family Cabin: 25 sq.mts. Room area + bathroom. Bedding includes 1 king size bed, two twin beds in a duplex (two floor setting, similar to a small apartment)
- Large common terrace with lounge area and hammocks

Hakuna Supreme
Located between the restaurant and the pool, this area caters to guests who search for that extra level of comfort found in our modern stone built cabins. We have 5 supreme rooms, one of them for families.
- Supreme Double Cabin: 16 - 18 sq.mts. room area + bathroom. Bedding is king size and a sofa bed
- Supreme Family Cabin: 30 sq.mts. Room area + bathroom, this room is spread out into 2 different ambiences. Bedding includes 1 king size bed and two twin beds
- Large common terrace with lounge area and hammocks
- Each cabin has: Ceiling fan

Hakuna Suite
Our largest and newest room, specially designed for our VIP guests, it is separate from other areas for some extra privacy and an almost direct access to the pool. It has panoramic windows with amazing views of our garden and the rainforest in the background, it has a private outdoors terrace lounge.

Ecuador hotel pricing structure
It is important to know that hotel services in Ecuador are subject to 2 different types of taxes. All hotels, restaurants and bars must add 12% VAT, in addition to this government tax all hotels, restaurants and bars must add a 10% service tax. This affects most high quality service establishments.
Important notice
It is not permitted to consume non lodge alcoholic drinks or non lodge food (exceptions include baby food, food for people with diabetes or medicinal purposes) in rooms or the restaurant. We accept bookings by email and over the phone, up to 1 day prior to arrival. To confirm your booking we request a minimum 50% payment by direct deposit or bank transfer.
